An Old Friend Returns Home

(Los Angeles, California) July 28, 2004,  The remains of Frieda Florentine were returned to her old home and life-long friends on No Name Drive Wednesday afternoon.

One might think this to be a sad occasion.  Actually, Satchmo, Big Red, Billet Doux, and somewhere--not far away--Parcifal was there in spirit, to welcome home his life long friend...Frieda Florentine.

It was a happy occasion for all concerned.

Outside the Cal Pet Crematory
 Frieda's remains were placed in the back seat
 of the car with Satchmo, who....

....suddenly realizes who and what it is!

An hour later, at their home on No Name Drive,
 Satchel ...

quickly feels at home with his memories of
Frieda, his life long friend who left him on July 5th.

Frieda too must feel good at being reunited with Satch and Doux, 
but also with her dear friend Parcifal.

Inscribed on Frieda's container:

"Frieda Florentine
Parci's Pal
and
Billy's Beauty
March 24, 1993--July 5, 2004

It is immediately obvious that Satch realizes this is a special place 
and he remains on the step for nearly an hour, 
obviously unaware it was well past his evening meal!

As Satchmo and Doux finally do go inside,
Doux's attention is drawn to the plaque by the front door and is reminded how special his three special friends, Parci, Frieda and Satchmo , will always be to him.

Oh, yes!
 The translation?

"Called or not called, 
God is always here."
